Introduction

1. My name is Linda Dulleba. I teach Social Studies to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors at the Center for Technology, Essex. I live in Shelburne with my husband, two kids and menangerie of pets. I am taking this course to become a more effective media educator.2. Regarding media, I like having access to so much information at my fingertips. Also being able to communicate easily with people all around the globe is pretty cool. For dislikes, I do not like the potential negative effects of the media on people in our culture, the youth, in particular (for example, drinking, smoking, eating disorders, reinforcement of stereotypes, and the like).3. I recently read the book Twilight and immediately after watched the film version so I could compare the two different formats of the story. As always, the book was better.I also spent some time with my brother recently and he is always plugged into his i-phone (I call it his feed). I learned, before most humans on the planet, the results of some huge hot dog eating contest and that Steve McNair had been shot - which was a little sad for me - he was a good quarterback.
